ABHAYA KENDRAM is a homeless shelter jointly run by "SEVABHARATHI" and "CORPORATION OF NAGERCOIL". This project runs through public donations and government contributions through kinds and funds.

     Seva Bharathi, a voluntary organization was formed to create a sustainable developed society by promoting volunteerism among the youth in the year 1989. It was a connecting point of minds to bring permanent solutions to the problems that were widely faced by the communities in our motherland Bharath.

    Our focus was on Multiple approach covering all the aspects of welfare in the field of Education, Health, Social welfare and Self sustenance along with Disaster preparedness.

     From a National organization, the activities and geographical areas were bifurcated and Seva Bharathi Then Tamilnadu was born in the year 2011 to work in the micro level in the districts located to the southern bank of river Cauvery. Kanyakumari District team is actively involved in various activities in the district. As a part of caring the homeless people we started this home called Abhaya Kendram in the year 2017.

     We call it as Abhaya kendram, in common it is a Shelter home for the Homeless a project promoted by Government of India, Ministry of Urban Development through its National Urban Livelihood Mission programme.

    The Corporation of Nagercoil is supporting this project and Its staff are actively involved in strengthening the project. They are supporting us financially a part by providing Building, Furniture, salary to staff, etc.,

      Our home is allotted to care 30 inmates.

மனைவியால் கைவிடப்பட்டு, பிள்ளைகளால் கவனிப்பாரற்று, பசியுடன் 'கால் இழந்து துக்கத்தின் உச்சநிலையில் இருந்த ஆழ்வார் கோவிலை சேர்ந்த திரு ரவீந்திரன் அவர்களை 'ஸ்ரீ வேததிஷ்டாணந்த சரஸ்வதி சுவாமிகள் முன்னிலையில் சேவாபாரதி பொறுப்பாளர்கள் மீட்டெடுத்தோம். தற்பொழுது அப்ய கேந்திரத்தில் தங்கி நிம்மதியுடன் பயன் அடைந்து வருகிறார்.
