Services Provided
- Homeless are identified by Corporation staff, Police, Social workers and Common Public and informed to us. We admit them as per Government Procedure and take care of them by providing immediate basic necessities and then counseling them continuously in order to find out their next kith and kin.
- Contacting their close relatives or finding out a solution to their problem.
- Rejoining with their family members.
- Funeral service for orphans.
- Caring the Differently abled who are thrown out from their families.
- Medical camps conducted for common public and inmates.
- Bhajans and Tour programmes are conducted as per the need.
- From the initiation we started with 19 inmates -10 female and 9 male but we had a capacity to cater 29 slowly it increased. we have cared 320 persons and many of them had joined with their families after our counseling team. Our aim is to promote harmonious families. There are many persons in the world who are rejected or thrown out due to some silly reasons. It is the society’s duty to care all of them. We as a part of the society doing our duty by caring counseling and making them live a dignified life.
COVID 19 - 1st Lockdown
- Per day per time more than 350 plates of meals was distributed at the beginning and it led to 1200
plates.
- The Corporation of Nagercoil, Revenue Department of Kanyakumari District, The Police Department of
Nagercoil city were guiding us to serve the meals to the real sufferers.
- A round the clock help desk was formed and guided the public in counselling and preventive care.
- Kabasura Kudineer- siddha medicine , Arsenic Album 30 C – Homoeopathy medicine for preventive care
distributed to public.
COVID 19 - 2nd Lockdown
- Per day One time lunch of 750 plates were provided to COVID positive people and home quarantined persons. This activity continued for 45 days.
- Our Development committee consists of volunteers who go in search for those who are abandoned by their families once in week.
- Unclaimed bodies were cremated with the help of well wishers. Poor who were unable to spend for cremation are helped financially to cremate with due respect.
- Kanyakumari District Flash Flood in the month of October 2021: Our team of volunteers gathered in
our premises and discussed about the situation and action plan was laid and we linked with the revenue
department and rescued people in low lying areas. They shifted to temporary shelter and provided food
and basic needs. They were also provided counselling.
Future Plans
- To start and run new abhaya Kendrams wherever necessary in Kanyakumari and also in the state.
- To start a senior citizen care centre and promote the need for caring senior citizens.
- To start and run a Supplementary education centre for children to promote moral education in order to prevent the issues from the early stage onwards.
- To meet out medical expenses for the poor who are deserving.
- To meet out educational expenses of the Poor and destitute.
- To solarize the roof of the building to reduce the electricity bill.
- To promote a nursery garden and distribute tree saplings.
